Mrs. Mary MARCRUM, 93, one of the oldest women of Montgomery County, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vern Remley east of Waynetown Thursday at 12:30 o’clock. She was born Sept 9, 1857 in the state of Kentucky the daughter of Lewis and Lavina Chambers Nelson. She was married Oct 31, 1878 to AB Marcum, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Liberty Christian Church. There survive her going three daughters: Mrs. Vern Remley; Mrs. Ida Lowe, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Etta Banta of Waveland; one son, Edgar of W. Milford, W. Va. 23 grandchildren; 32 great granchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three children. Funeral services were held at Liberty Christian Church in charge of Rev. Guy Walters of Mellott and burial was made in the cemetery nearby. - transcribed and submitted by kbz
